About the event (from Behind Bars Sports):
Due to the Covid-19 Outbreak we are unable to hold our “normal” Wattathon in January 2021. The past 6 years we have been organising a Charity interclub event raising over £3000 for charities across the Midlands and beyond. We did not want 2021 to be any different.
Over the 23rd and 24th January riders from clubs will rack up as many miles as they can. The winning club will be the club with the highest combined milage of their entered club mates.
We will also be holding a prize for the club who’s highest 10 riders combined milage is the highest.
Our 2 chosen Charities for 2021 are:
St Basils – A local Youth Homeless charity working across the West Midlands. Helping over 5000 16-25-year olds per year. It costs £5 per person, per day for St Basils to offer the support services they do. So, every entry to the Wattathon Weekend 2021 will have a huge impact.
Cyclists Fighting Cancer – A Charity that provide a unique and highly effective way of helping kids with cancer through activity and exercise. CFC give new bikes, tandems and specially adapted trikes to children and young people who have been affected by cancer throughout the UK.
