friday 5th april 2019 at the renewal church
A sleepout is a sponsored challenge for your group to build a shelter out of the materials provided and then sleep in it overnight!
What's it all for?
This event raises money for our services in Solihull which include two supported accommodation schemes for those who have become homeless and engagement services aimed at helping young people to re-skill and gain the confidence needed to get back into education, work and training.
We also have a Youth Hub in Solihull, which assists young people who have housing issues before they reach crisis point.
In previous years we have had almost 200 people take part in the Solihull SleepOut raising in excess of £20,000!
About the Event
We provide the cardboard and plastic sheeting, although, short of a tent or campervan lol, we are happy for you to bring whatever other materials you like! Especially if you are taking part in our optional 'Creative Cardboard Competition'.
Although it is a challenge (and that's why we want your other friends and family to sponsor you too), it can also be great fun and we certainly don't want you to be miserable. Please wear plenty of warm layers and bring sleeping bags and extra blankets too.
Why take part in our Solihull Sleepout?
Our Solihull SleepOut, often considered the 'Rolls Royce' of all our SleepOuts, takes place in a covered carpark, so you do at least have some protection from the elements.
At this years' Solihull Sleepout, we'll have:
- Free Indian food
- Creative Cardboard Competition (with prizes for the best cardboard dwelling)
- Short film screenings
