Starting and finishing from Hay-on-Wye (postcode HR3 5DQ) then navigating sections of the Black Mountains, the usual 3 routes are on offer:
Short route - 7 miles (easy with 1 hill)
Medium route -14.5 miles (easy/moderate 2 hills)
Long route - 23.5 miles (tough with 4 hills)
Please note that these distance are rough approximations to give you an idea of what to expect.
As long time particpants of this event (over 120 teams every year) already know this is considered the most unique charity walk in the summer calendar because it happens in a different part of the UK ever year and we don't put out markers every 100 yards. We give you an illustrated guide booklet and a map and you have to make it from check point to check point and at each one you'll get water and plenty of chocolate until you reach the finish line. So this is a REAL CHALLENGE!
Team payments: Each team must have a minimum of 3 people and a maximum of 6 people.
You can download a team registration form or pay directly on-line.
SHORT route: £5 per person.
MEDIUM route: £15 per person.
LONG route: £20 per person.

SPONSORSHIP: Because of the unique nature of this legendary fundraiser all the walker payments go towards covering the running of this event.
Therefore we urge you to try and raise as much as you can in sponsorship to support the vital work we do in preventing youth homelessness.

We have changed the catering system and now we no longer provide an after walk meal. There are two great places to eat right next to the finish line; the Hay Centre Cafe and The Blue Boar Pub.
For breakfast please go to the Hay Centre Cafe which is right next to the large public car park near the school. Breakfast are set at £10 and included Bacon sausage/Vegetarian sausage, mushrooms, hash browns, tomatoes, egg, toast, beans and 1 cup of coffee/tea. Bring cash with you and pay at the till.
