Sara Fowler

Sara joined the board of St Basils in 2012, she served on the Business Support and Audit Committee and then became Chair in 2015. She stepped down at the 2020 AGM.

She is a chartered accountant and former partner with Ernst & Young (EY). She had been with EY for 30 years, a partner for 17 years and senior partner for EY Midlands for seven years until 30 June 2017.

She also holds several other non-executive director roles as follows:

  • She is a trustee and director of EY Foundation, a charity that works with young people to realise their career ambitions and helps social enterprises scale up sustainability
  • She is a non-executive director of Mpac Group plc, an international packaging company, listed on the Alternative Investment Market (“AIM”), a sub-market of the London Stock Exchange, with a long and proud history of delivering innovation and excellence on a global basis.
  • She is a non-executive director of BHSF a not for profit provider of affordable health insurance for individuals, employees and intermediaries. employee health and wellbeing benefits and HR support services. On 1 September 2020 she was appointed Chair.

Previously she was on the board of the Compulsory Purchase Association a not for profit member organisation that promotes best and effective practice in delivering land for infrastructure, housing and regeneration and for the period 2015 to 2017, Sara was the Chair of the CBI West Midlands where she had a particular focus on the skills agenda.
