Our Nightstop scheme provides emergency accommodation for one or two nights for young people aged 16-25 who need it to give them somewhere safe to stay so that they won't have to sleep rough. We are dependant on caring Hosts in our local communities offering up their spare rooms to provide this much needed emergency assistance and if possible a hot meal and shower too. We couldn't ask them to provide toiletries/ clothing for the young people as well!
However as well as economic factors, young people are most likely to become homeless due to relationship and family breakdown. In some cases this is due to domestic violence. Many in need of emergency accommodation have not had the time to pack toiletries or even a change of clothes.
And therefore we are in need of an ongoing supply of certain items. Where needed we purchase items out of our budgets but if you can assist with any of these items - well that will be wonderful! Our young people and Hosts and staff will be hugely appreciative!
New and unused items or unwanted Christmas/ birthday presents
Currently we are in need of new:
Shower/ bath sets
Lightweight Dressing gowns
Towels (small and large)
Mattress cover/ fitted sheets
If you can help with donations of any of these items please call 0121 772 2483 and ask for Yvette or Mark from the Home2Home/ Nightstop team or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you have used items to donate, please see St Basils in your area and click on the location nearest to you. You will then find the phone number of your local project.
If you don't have unwanted Christmas/ birthday presents you can still help Nightstop by making a financial donation so that we can purchase emergency items for young people. We are also in need of financial donations to help pay for travel to and from the Hosts houses.
Thank you so much for your support!
