John Lewis Customers: Please vote for us in Community Matters charitable giving scheme
03 FEB 2017

John Lewis Community Matters logoSt Basils has been selected by partners at John Lewis in Birmingham to be one of three recipients of their quarterly charitable giving scheme, but how much of the share of £3000 St Basils will receive depends on how many votes we get from customers. If you're a supporter of St Basils and a John Lewis customer, be sure to vote for us!

St Basils believes every young person deserves to have a safe place to call home. Every year we house over 1200 homeless young people and young families in our supported accommodation schemes.  We have a range of support and engagement services to help young people regain the stability they need to rebuild their lives, gain skills, training and employment and move on successfully breaking the 'cycle of homelessness' so that they can go on to experience a bright, fulfilling future and never return to a state where they are at risk of homelessness again.

We will use our share of the money to upgrade some of the Starter Packs we have had donated to Gold Standard. This gives young people all the basics they need to settle into new accommodation when they move on, helping them to settle in quicker and have more chance of managing in their new tenancy and living independently.

The Community Matters boxes are located at the Place to Eat on Level 4 and Customer Collections on Level 2. One token is issued per transaction which then needs to be posted in the box.

This will run until the end of April 2017.
