Following feedback from some of our supporters we now have two new events suitable for kids to take part in, including 'Bike for St Basils' and everyone who completes the course will get one of our snazzy ‘Bike for St Basils’ medals! think how proud your kids will be to get one of these?
And acheivement is what it's all about about the money raised from Bike for St Basils will go towards supporting our Learning, Skills and Work services which aim to help young people back into education and ultimately on to a better life!
We don’t expect children to be able to raise a lot in sponsorship but everything you do raise will be gratefully received and by taking part you and your kids will be helping the wider community and homeless young people across the West Midlands region to move on successfully with their lives. It’s also the chance to meet and cycle alongside like-minded families from the local area.
The event itself will take place on Sunday 18th September. We know at the moment you’re probably just trying to find ways to fill the long summer holidays and not thinking about September yet but it’ll give your kids something to look forward to once they’re back at school and a reason to get out on their bikes in the weeks preceding in preparation.
The route is an easy 9 miles around the outskirts of Sutton Park and for the most part takes place on wide tarmacked paths or pavements. The route is well signposted so you can go at your own pace. There will also be a broom wagon behind to pick up and help anyone who is having issues with their bike.
There is Free parking at BMET for those that require it and you must both drop-in there before starting the route and return there afterwards in order to qualify for and collect your Bike for St Basils medals! BMET is also close to Sutton Coldfield train station which is on the same line as Birmingham New Street and will give easy access to those living in the South of Birmingham.
Registration will close early September so sign-up today to secure your places. It’ll be a great adventure for your kids and an achievement to be proud of!
