June is a month we celebrate our Volunteers – So here at St Basils we are no different. Our volunteers work hard for us by working alongside our staff ensuring our young people are safe and supported 24/7. This month our Fair Chance project supported our volunteers by holding a volunteers lunch. This gave volunteers the opportunity to talk about their experiences – the good, bad and the ugly with not only other volunteers but staff members from all levels.
Dionne, Fiar Chance Locality Manager said:
“The skills and time that volunteers contributes is invaluable, having volunteers amongst the team has had a tremendous impact on improving the quality of service we are able to deliver to young people. Each staff member has had the opportunity to expand their skills by working with our volunteers. They have been able to share their workload, co deliver the service with volunteers and help them to learn about how we support our young people at St Basils. Volunteers expressed the need for events like this saying It brings volunteers closer together, It’s good to hear everyone else’s stories and experiences. I want to say a very big thank you to each of our volunteers for the amazing work they do."
