Starter Packs

Starter Packs help increase the chances that our young people will be able to move on successfully. We give them the support, the opportunities and the skills needed to make the transition to independent living, but there are items that we all need to make us feel more comfortable and will help us settle in quicker when moving on to a new place.

If possible we are looking for a 'pack' of items in a box that we can hand on to a young person and will have everything they need in there to get started (plus perhaps a few extras or treats that will be a nice surprise!). Although moving on is the end goal, it can be a daunting time so this will really help our young people and make them feel good about moving on.

Support Manager Jula Brady who manages one of our emergency accommodation schemes said:

“We were donated 2 starter packs just recently and our staff and young residents were really impressed with the quality and thought that had gone into them. We gave one to a young person that was moving on to his own flat and he was very grateful as there was everything he needed to be able to cook and make his bed up which was the most important thing to him”.

What's in a starter pack?

Linen must be brand new but other items can be second hand as long as they are clean and not damaged in any way.
