Our Kidderminster Foyer, which supports young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in the Wyre Forest area, has continued to enjoy support recently from the Midcounties Co-op and it's Wyre Forest branch.
Providing long term accommodation for 19 young people in the Wyre Forest area for up to two years, the purpose-built Kidderminster Foyer aims to teach young people all the skills they'll need to be truly independent and helps young people access education, training or employment so they can move on successfully with their lives.
Since launching the partnership back in the summer with a BBQ for the young people Co-op staff have raised almost £130 for the project and it has also received a further £250 community grant. This money has been used to purchase equipment for cooking and other Life Skills classes at the project.
The Midcounties Co-op have also been supplying starter packs to help young people moving into new accommodation to settle in, and have pledged to continue this support.
At Christmas Co-op staff delivered long-life food, treats and goodies to the project and have pledged more goods and funding going forwards.
They are also looking to start an Apprenticeship programme soon for young people with the project.
