New Coventry SleepOut to take place in iconic old Cathedral ruins
31 JUL 2015

Are you from Coventry or do you live or work in Coventry now?

We have a new fundraising event aimed at helping to raise money to help young people just in the Coventry area!

This new event, modelled on our other SleepOuts, will be taking place on Friday 23rd October 2015 in the iconic grounds of the old Coventry Cathedral ruins, one of the most atmospheric venues possible for a sleepout under the stars.

We work in partnership with Coventry City Council and have 5 services operating in Coventry, aimed at helping young people in crisis with advice, assessments, practical assistance and temporary accommodation -supporting them throughout.

The sleepout is a sponsored challenge to sleep in just a carboard box and plastic sheeting overnight. Whilst still a challenge we are not aiming to emulate rough sleeping with this event. Participants are required to wear warm weatherproof clothes and bring outdoor sleeping bags and there are facilities on site as well as security through-out the event. Groups can take part in our 'Creative Cardboard Competition' if they wish, bringing extra cardboard or materials to do something a bit more creative with their cardboard ration for the night. Let see if any Coventry entries can make it into our 'Creative Cardboard Competition Hall of Fame'?

So if you want to ensure young people aged 16-25 in Coventry get the support they need to avoid losing their homes or to find safe haven when they do, please consider taking part in this event. It's a great opportunity to meet other people like you!
