Following successful pilots last year, we are just about to launch a new free Solihull Parenting Young People Forum.
St Basils has been collaborating with local people to design a forum where parents can share experiences and learn the positive approaches, skills and techniques that we teach professionals working with young people. Our approachces aim to help young people identifiy their own triggers and cycles of behaviour so that without judgement situations can be resolved calmly.
St Basils has been using these approaches in our work with young people since 2011 and we launched a training proramme for other agency professionals in 2016.
There will be 8 initial sessions meeting fortnightly. After that we will step back and the group will continue.
This is aimed particularly at parents/ family members of adolescents. However parents of any aged child can attend the forum to help you now or in the future, you just need to be living in Solihull.
The first session will take place on Thursday 24th May 2018, there will be a daytime group (10.30-12.30) and a separate evening group (7pm-9pm).
Numbers are limited so please book your place today!
This is just the first group, there will be more starting later in the year (July and September) so even if you can't attend this first one, still get in touch with Adam to secure your place for later in the year.
