Northfield Adult Education Centre donate 5 silver standard starter packs and raise money through bake sale
16 DEC 2016

Huge thanks to staff at Northfield Adult Education Centre who have donated 5 complete Silver Standard starter packs to us!

Starter Packs make the whole process of moving on much less daunting for our young residents and give them a few essentials to help them settle in.

Silver Standard means they have bought new bedding and sheets for our young people so they can set up their bed straight away in their new place! This is a brilliant support as unfortunately we are not allowed to take second hand bedding even if washed.

Donating complete starter packs also really helps us as none of our projects have much storage space and this means the packs can be passed straight on to our young people

These Starter Packs will go to young people moving on from our projects in Kings Norton and Moseley, Birmingham.

The team also baked cakes and had a bake sale raising a fantastic £237.94!

Anne Morton, Fundraising Officer at St Basils said: This is a brilliant support! Huge thanks to all the staff for doing both Bake for St Basils and buying and collecting items and taking the time to put together these fabulous complete Silver Standard Starter Packs! These lovely items will be eagerly received by our young people and will really help make moving on a much less daunting process for them and help them settle in quicker to their new accommodation!"

Theresa Busby, Centre Manager said: "The team enjoyed raising the funds and completing the packs for this worthwhile charity. We were delighted to help and all had fun baking and selling cakes. It was like working with a team from the The Great British Bake off and the creations were just as delicious!"
