Birmingham City Council have announced they are now backtracking on homeless cuts.
Council bosses have since scaled back threatened cuts to services for homeless & vulnerable people for a second time saying ‘it was the right thing to do’.
Birmingham City Council was set to cut 3.2 million this year and a further 1.8 million next year. However following negotiations the council is now putting £2 million back into the budget to continue services at their current level until March 2018.
We would like to thank everyone who took part in and supported our #SaveOurSupport campaign.
'We applaud the Council for taking this decision against a backdrop of cuts and immense pressure on budgets and for upholding the City's proud track record of protecting the most vulnerable, and we commit to working with you to ensure the best possible future outcomes for those we serve.'
