The quality of St Basils workforce is the cornerstone of its ability to support the young people we work with, so finding the best people is essential. In the UK, over 7 million people (17.5%) of working age are disabled or have a health condition.
By becoming Disability Confident, we are recognised as an employer that actively seeks out and hires disabled people and people with health conditions for their skills and talent. It is also a clear reflection of our commitment to challenging discrimination and promoting diversity and cohesion through employment, service delivery and community engagement – one of St Basils’ strategic priorities. As a Disability Confident employer, we are helping to positively change attitudes, behaviours and cultures, not just at St Basils but across our networks, partnerships and the communities we work with.
