Thanks to votes from members of the public, St Basils Kidderminster Foyer has received £2000 from Lloyds Bank Community Fund.
The grant will be used to create an activities room at the supported accommodation scheme which houses 19 young people and has a training kitchen and ICT room but no other communal space.
Derrick Manyanda St Basils Wyre Forest Coordinator said; “We are delighted to have won this award of £2000 from Lloyds Bank. On behalf of our young people we would like to say a huge thank you to our local branch and everyone who voted for us. Having suffered a housing crisis, the young people that come to us are often lacking in self-confidence and this award will allow us to buy all the equipment we need to create an activities room to help young people socialise with each other to improve their social skills and general sense of well being, in a relaxed and homely environment.”
The Lloyds Bank Community Fund was set up to help local people across England, Wales, and Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands and Isle of Man to have a positive impact at the heart of their community by giving grants to 1,400 local good causes in 350 communities.
