Meet Tamzin, our Youth Voice Project Manager.
To celebrate 18 (!!!) years working with young people to prevent youth homelessness, Tamzin will be running the Birmingham International Marathon in October for St Basils. That’s 26 long miles!
Tamzin has been training constantly for this very event for the past 2 years.
‘I started running 2 years ago when I could barely run 2 minutes! I wanted to set myself a real challenge, a challenge that I wasn’t going to find easy, and believe me I don’t! In my job I have to encourage young people to get out their comfort zones and push themselves constantly. I believe that you should never stop challenging yourself, so, it was only fair that I went and done the same.
With 1 month to go I am so excited, nervous and scared! But any negativity drifts when I think back to the reasons I am running the marathon. I plan to randomly select initials from 26 young people I am currently working with to mark every individual mile using real life situations, it makes it all worth the pain!’
Tamzin will be taking place in Birmingham International Marathon on Sunday 15th October.
Tamzin has a goal target of £1,000, this really will make a difference to young people’s lives so please, let’s help her achieve this by clicking here
