JOB TITLE Outreach Navigation Worker (Contract until 31st March 2020)

REPORTS TO Programme Lead

HOURS 37.5 Hours Per Week (Full Time) and 18.75 Hours Per Week (Part Time) roles available

SALARY Scale 6, Point 26 - 28, £22,376 - £23,873, Per Annum, Pro Rata

BASED FROM Birmingham

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

  • The main focus of the role will be to initiate contact with young rough sleepers and those at risk of rough sleeping, via street outreach.
  • To engage with rough sleepers to enable risk and needs assessments to be carried out to identify and manage any risks and needs identified.
  • To support young people to return home or secure alternative suitable accommodation to prevent rough sleeping.
  • To work in partnership with statutory agencies in order to ensure statutory duties are met

As an Outreach Navigation worker you will initiate contact with young rough sleepers and those at risk of rough sleeping, via street outreach. You will work within a multi-agency team to help guide young people in to safe appropriate accommodation, ensuring that they have access to benefits, vital support services and other provision.

Many of our young people have not had the best start in life and face significant challenges every day in securing a positive future – especially those that are rough sleeping or are at risk of rough sleeping.
