PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Triage Coordinator will ensure the provision of an effective and highly professional referral and advice gateway to housing related services for young people. The Triage coordinator will ensure the effective administration support to a multi - agency service for young people at risk of homelessness in Birmingham. This will be done through the effective management of the Triage Workers.

As a Triage Coordinator, you will be one of the first faces that a young person sees when they come to our Youth Hub for help with their housing or call for advice. We count on our Triage team to provide a welcoming and first-class service to our young people to enable them to have a smooth start to their journey.

The Youth Hub was established in 2011 in response to the requirements arising from the 2009 “G v Southwark Judgment” and the subsequent Department of Children Schools and Families guidance to Children Services and Local Housing Authorities (April 2010), which sets out local authorities duties to secure accommodation and support services for homeless 16 and 17 year old young people.
