As part of this contract we have initially set up three supported accommodation schemes in Leamington. The largest is Binswood Lodge which has 25 units plus an emergency ‘crash bed’. Two smaller projects are Newbold which is 9 units and Warford which is 6 units respectively. Newbold is for young people under 18 with complex needs or where there are safeguarding concerns. Warford is accommodation designed specifically to support young single mothers.
All three Locations will be staffed 24/7. All residents will be completing a St Basils ‘tenancy ready’ accreditation programme which will be delivered through our Life Skills programme.
The service operates 7 days a week, with the capacity to receive emergency referrals up to 8pm. Young people are able to self-refer or refer through the Local Authority.
Young people can self-refer by email, using the address accommodationwarwickshire@stbasils.org.uk. We are operating a waiting list for this service and we will also be supporting young people on the waiting list in exactly the same way as those residing with us in our new accommodation schemes.
We are currently in the process of seeking another 13 units in South Warwickshire in order to use as move-on accommodation.
From 1st November 2019, we welcomed a number of new employees from the outgoing provider and have also recruited additional staff internally and externally, including Progression Co-ordinators, Coaches and Night Workers.
We’d like to take this opportunity to thank again everyone who played their part in helping us increase our much needed services across Coventry and Warwickshire.
