Don’t Judge a Book is St Basils’ Christmas Campaign.
The premise is simple:
- Kind folk donate their pre-loved books
- They are sold for £2 each, pre-wrapped, at our Charity Stall at the Birmingham Christmas Market
- Each 5 books sold helps us pay for a night of accommodation for a young person at risk of homelessness in the West Midlands
People often judge young people at risk of homelessness- but we shouldn’t.
Did you know what book you were getting…? No…? Was it very different to what you expected under the cover?
The simple fact is, anyone can become homeless, and homelessness doesn’t look the same for every person who experiences it.
Almost 136,000 young people asked for help from their local council in 2022/2023 because they were homeless or at risk of homelessness.
We believe every young person deserves a life free of judgement.
