The Big Sleepout 2024

Sleep rough for one night in Birmingham City Centre so a young person doesn’t have to.

Event

The event begins at 6pm at Millennium Point car park, where you will receive a cardboard box to sleep under the open sky, and there is a prize for the most imaginative shelter judged on the night. You can bring more cardboard and materials, if you like- your imagination is the limit!

Entertainment/ Food

There will be an Indian Drum & Dance group, hot vegan curry, cakes, teas and coffee, the West Midlands Fire Service brass band playing festive favourites, and a presentation inside Millennium Point detailing the positive impacts of your support. We also provide drinks and toast for breakfast.

Over 500 people from local businesses, community groups, schools and families, take part at our flagship fundraiser, helping to secure a brighter future for young people in need.

Registration is free, and we are with you every step of the way through your fundraising process, creating an automatic fundraising page you share with friends, family and colleagues.

Each £9 raised from the event helps pay for a night of security for a young person in need- of which we help 600+ every single night.

Why should I take part?

Last year at St Basils:

  • 3,718 young people received advice and support.
  • 1,034 young people lived in our 40+ accommodation schemes.
  • Nearly 600 young people stay with us every single night.

We can’t help the young people of the West Midlands without your support.

Taking part in the Big Sleepout is a way to give back to your community, reach your CSR goals as a company or organisation- and take part in a spirited, festive, and challenging event.

A thank you to our dear friends, who this legendary event wouldn’t be possible without the support of:
