On Friday 10th October, we’re inviting schools across the West Midlands to ‘Wear It Red’ for World Homelessness Day!
Join schools across the West Midlands on World Homeless Day and Wear It Red to help end youth homelessness.
It’s simple: pupils wear something red, make a small donation, and raise awareness for St Basils — a local charity supporting young people aged 16–25 who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
How It Works:
✔ Pick your red! A t-shirt, hat, scarf, or even socks – anything red to show your support.
✔ If your uniform is red already, go bold with our Brighten Up for Basils twist: wear your brightest, most colourful clothes!
✔ Make a donation (suggested £1–£2) – every penny helps change lives.
✔ Friday 10th October not practical? We’re here to support schools all-year, and are happy to support you in choosing another day.
Why Take Part?
Every night, hundreds of young people across the West Midlands face homelessness. At St Basils, we provide safe accommodation, advice, and support to over 4,000 young people every year — but we need your help.
It costs just £16 to provide a safe place for a young person for one night. Together, we can make a huge difference.
Extra Support for Schools:
We can provide:
- A 15-minute assembly presentation to explain the campaign
- Educational resources to help students learn about homelessness
- Posters and fundraising tips to make your day a success
