St Basils Solihull Youth Hub provides support and assistance to single young persons aged 16-24 who are homeless, at risk of homelessness or in housing need. We work in partnerships with Solihull Community Housing (SCH) and Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council (SMBC).


Our service delivery is focused on early Intervention, prevention, accommodation provision and ongoing support

Opening times

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday:

9.30- 1pm and 2pm – 5pm

Thursday:

9.30- 1pm and 2pm-5pm

*Extended opening times are available by appointment, from 5pm-7pm


What you need to bring:

  • Solihull Youth Hub (SYH) staff will ask for:
  • Proof of ID (birth certificate, biometric card, passport drivers’ licence)
  • Proof of income or eligibility (UC claim, payslips)
  • Proof of pregnancy if applicable

SYH wants to support and enable young people to find and keep a home, grow in confidence, develop skills, increase opportunities and prevent homelessness.

SYH offer a variety of services to help young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness including:

  • Early Intervention- We provide early help and support for young people to prevent crisis homelessness
  • Housing Advice- We offer information, advice and guidance on housing issues
  • Advocacy & Mediation: We offer support to navigate conflicts and negotiations with family, landlords etc
  • Support Services -We offer support to help young people to manage their tenancy including floating support, access education, training or employment, debt advice and money management etc
  • Referrals to Specialist Services- We can refer young people to other services to support their overall wellbeing and challenges
  • Build relationships and access your community

SYH also discharges homelessness functions on behalf of the Council. This is an assessment in line with the Homelessness Reduction Act.

SYH also has access to an accommodation finding Worker who refers to:

  • Commissioned accommodation for young people
  • Live and Work schemes
  • Rent deposit schemes
