250 St Basils young people graduated Lifeskills course at graduation celebration

On Thursday 3rd October  we had the Life skills graduation at BMet Matthew Bolton college. It was a great night!! Approximately 200 people attended …. it was standing room only!!

The theme this year was ‘Progression’ and two St Basils young people Feme and Christopher, who had both been supported to access the NHS apprentice scheme, made speeches. Christopher shared about how far he had come, from when he first moved into St Basils to now, when he has been offered full time employment following his apprenticeship with the NHS!

Well known ex-resident of St Basils Councillor Sharon Thompson also spoke about her journey.  St Basils Chief Executive Jean Templeton also spoke about what Progression can mean and the evening also included a song from Isaac Masih.

As always it was all about the young people!  This year over 250 successfully completed their level 1 OCNWM qualification in Employability and Development skills. It was great to see the young people as well as their friends and family who had come along to support them!
