Bands Raise Thousands to Drum Out Youth Homelessness

A group of bands came together at the Royal Leamington Spa Centre and raised over £2,500 to prevent youth homelessness in the West Midlands.

The event for St Basils, which was organised by local residents Pietro and Jan Micheli and local musicians, took place on Tuesday 25th June with bands from across the region taking part.  The event also contained pre-recorded performances from some of the young people that St Basils supports, showcasing their talents as well as that of the bands performing.

We support over 4,000 young people a year, providing accommodation and support to help them move on to live independently.

Jean Templeton, Chief Executive for St Basils, said: “This event was a wonderful example of what can happen when people come together in support of a common goal.  The bands were fantastic and showcased the talent in the area.  The money that was raised will make a real difference to the lives of young people experiencing homelessness in the West Midlands.  On behalf of us all at St Basils, thank you to all who supported this event.”

Pietro and Jan said: “This was an event by young people for young people. It was a great pleasure to contribute to St Basils’ mission and we’re extremely happy with how the concert went!”

A huge thanks goes to the performers, Jan and Pietro, and all of the gig-goers who supported this special evening. Keep an eye out on our events page or follow us on social media to keep up to date with our upcoming events.
