Popular TV Show Doctors Gift Generously

A donation to our charity pop-up shop is just what the Doctors ordered!

Thanks to the success of the first three weeks of our pop-up vintage shop, we’ve needed to restock – and a large donation of clothing from the well-loved, daytime BBC show Doctors has proven just the prescription to our aliment.

Alongside the existing stock of vintage football shirts and 90s clothing, the pop-up shop now stocks items donated from the clothing department of the BBC show Doctors. The long-running daytime show was filmed in and around Birmingham until it was cancelled earlier this year. Clothing for several of the show’s characters was included in the donation and the pop-up will stock a range of it, from T-shirts, jeans and jumpers to smart workwear and party dresses. Items come from a range of brands including Adidas, Mango, Hobbs, Reiss, and Phase Eight.

Separately, we’ve also had brand-new Kappa-branded sporting clothing donated, and a small number of vintage Gymshark items.

Barrie Hodge, our head of fundraising, said; “We were delighted when staff from the show Doctors reached out to us with an offer of donating clothes from the show. My team have been sorting through the very generous donation. Some of it will go to the young people we work with who are experiencing homelessness, especially the items that are suitable for wearing to job interviews.

“There’s a lot of great stuff in there and some of it fits in with the vintage style of the stock we’ve already got, but there’s lots of newer things too. A lot of that of it will make its way to the shop – clothing from well-known brands like Hobbs, Reiss, and Phase Eight, some still with tags on. One of my staff has her eye on a gold dress from Coast that was donated from the TV show.

“We’ve deliberately been quite selective over what we stock in the shop as we want it to have a strong identity. We want to keep that youthful, on trend, 90s fashion that’s popular now but feedback was people would like to see more things aimed at women – and the Doctors donation does that.”

Our St Basils pop-up shop is located in the Great Western Arcade and is open Monday to Friday, 11am – 5pm.
