#SeetheFullPicture campaign calls for mental health support to be easier to access for those facing addiction

The 2nd stage of Birmingham Changing Futures Together #seethefullpicture campaign is calling attention to the barriers faced by those experiencing multiple disadvantage when trying to access mental health support, and is encouraging people to sign the petition and help spread the word.

Birmingham Changing Futures Together has launched the 2nd instalment in the #Seethefullpicture campaign, following the success of Multiple Disadvantage Day in July 2019.

The online campaign which launched on Monday 20th January, also known as Blue Monday, aims to join the Mental Health discussions of the time, calling attention to the barriers to accessing mental health support when experiencing multiple disadvantage, such as addiction.

The campaign is to encourage as many people as possible to sign a petition for change, at www.seethefullpicture.org.uk. The petition will be taken to Commissioners, Policy-Makers and MPs in England, and will ask that current NICE Guidelines around co-occurring conditions are adhered to.

The campaign needs your support to get the petition and hashtag trending. Please increase social media content using the hashtag #Seethefullpicture especially on 5th February 2020.

The group are also encouraging professional development by sharing a two-page paper titled Improving Access to Mental Health Services for People Facing Addiction, which has been published as part of the campaign, and can be shared with professionals working in the field of Multiple Disadvantage. The paper can be accessed at www.multipledisadvantageday.org/professionals.

You can follow the campaign at @SystemChangeTNL, join the conversation by using the hashtag #seethefullpicture and find out more at www.multipledisadvantageday.org
