Young residents at new Leamington Spa scheme learn how to refurbish old pool table to bring it back into use

As part of our Green Achiever commitments, we’re big on encouraging sustainable practices here at St Basils! So we were really pleased to hear from the team leader at one of our newest projects that the young people have refurbished an old pool table left behind by the previous residents and have brought it back into use!

The felt needed replacing in order to use it so this was purchased by team leader Emma Brown. Then Learning and Skills Co-ordinator John Gately (pictured above) taught three of our young people how to fit it so that it could be played on once more. Pictured above are two of the young people helping with the refurbishment.

And below the same young people enjoying their first game of many 😊

Team Leader Emma Brown said: “We were really pleased that we were able to bring something that has fallen into disrepair back into use and teach our young residents some useful skills as well. Plus it has created a way the young people can enjoy the communal space and relax and have fun together”.
