St Basils works with young people aged 16-25 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, helping over 5000 young people per year across the West Midlands region with specific services in Birmingham, Sandwell, Solihull, Walsall, Warwickshire, Worcestershire, the Wyre Forest and Coventry. This is a fantastic opportunity to support the immediate needs of young people within St Basils’ care.
Key activities and challenges specific to the role include:
- Assisting the Health and Safety Manager in providing technical support to ensure the effective management of gas safety, electrical safety, legionella, fire safety, etc.
- Managing compliance procedures to ensure adherence with current legislation and best practice.
- Developing existing management systems and implementing changes to improve effectiveness of existing arrangements.
- Undertake specific audits and monitoring to ensure compliance requirements are delivered.

- Good knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety significant experience working in a housing environment preferred.
- Experience of managing regulatory compliance obligations such as gas safety, legionella, fire safety & asbestos is desired.
- Willingness to learn web-based systems with experience of using Microsoft Office 365 software including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams.
