St Basils has an fantastic opportunity for a Recruitment and HR Officer to be based in Digbeth, Birmingham on a full time, permanent basis to lead on all resourcing and recruitment related activity and to offer HR support and guidance across the organisation.

St Basils works with young people aged 16-25 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, helping over 5000 young people per year across the West Midlands region with specific services in Birmingham, Sandwell, Solihull, Walsall, Warwickshire, Worcestershire, the Wyre Forest and Coventry. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the growth of a resourcing function whilst delivering our day to day recruitment needs across a range of changing business portfolios.

 

 

You will be responsible for defining roles, advertising and supporting in the selection of new staff whilst ensuring an excellent level of service to candidates and to managers across the organisation. You will ensure best practice recruitment standards are adhered to whilst supporting the wider HR Team with ongoing activity around employment law, HR legislation, and all other associated duties. Acting as a first point of contact for all opportunities across the business, you will play a critical role by ensuring St Basils attracts the best calibre of candidate to support the needs of our young people.

 

 

Key activities specific to the role include:

  • Providing an effective and cost efficient recruitment service to the business.
  • Ownership of Student Placements, Apprenticeships and Volunteer campaigns.
  • Contract management of key suppliers such as the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) provider, recruitment agency preferred suppliers list (PSL) and occupational health management system provide to ensure the correct level of service is adhered to.
  • To lead on recruitment campaigns (job advertising, interview arrangement and selection).
  • To provide innovative solutions in terms of routes to market and candidate attraction.
  • To provide secondary HR support, offering professional HR advice and guidance to the workforce.

The ideal candidate will hold:

  • Experience of leading on recruitment related activity.
  • Experience of administering recruitment software (ATS / Job Portals).
  • Ability to work within a professional HR environment where integrity and discretion is of paramount importance.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft packages (Work, Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience of providing best practice HR advice.

  • Competitive salary of £22,375 – £23,873 per annum pro rata
  • 28 days annual leave, plus 8 Statutory Bank holidays per annum, pro rata.
