What is Streetsmart?

Streetsmart is a national initiative. Restaurants offering table service take part in this initiative during the festive months of November and December, encouraging customers to add a voluntary £1 per table to their bill.

People are generally very generous. StreetSmart experience has shown that less than 1% of customers decline to participate. And it does not seem to effect the generousity shown for tips which remain the same.

There will be a small table card displayed which will explain all this and how the money raised is used.

At the end of each month, the restaurant passes on all of these pound coins to StreetSmart.  St Basils uses the money raised to fund Education, Training and Employment Opportunties for our young residents, to truly help break the 'cycle of homelessness'.

All StreetSmart’s running and operational costs are generously paid for by our sponsors, Deutsche Bank, - every penny in every £1 raised goes directly to help the people that need it.

If you wish to be part of this great campaign please fill out the form on this page.

You can sign up for one or both months. Thank you so much for your support!

Other ways restaurants and cafes can help us

Another way restaurants and cafes can help us is by taking part in Tomato and St Basils soup week. This involves making Tomato and Basil soup and selling it to the public then donating 50% of the profits to us. We will assist with promoting all the venues that are taking part.

The period of time is up to you but it must include the week that includes National soup day on 4th February.

If you would like more information please fill out the form on this page selecting the 'Tomato and St Basils soup' option.
