St Basils Kidderminster Foyer provides long term accommodation for 19 young people in the Wyre Forest area for up to 2 years. All young people living at this project are committed to engaging in some form of education, training or employment. Each young person has a personal development and action plan called an 'Outcomes Star' to chart individual successes and progress. Staff work intensively with young people to guide them to achieve their goals including in education and training to ultimately assist them to secure long term employment.
There is a well equipped ICT training room on site to ensure young people can continue job searches and individual learning in their own time and a training kitchen where young people learn how to cook healthy meals from scratch, guided by staff.
The project is staffed 24/7 with day time support workers and night time cover workers
St Basils also provides housing related support (also known as 'floating support) to around 45 young people across the Wyre Forest district area to help prevent youth homelessness.
Thanks to staff from Midcounties Co-operative for their ongoing support, and also Lloyds Bank Community Fund for their £2000 donation. This was voted for by members of the public so thanks to all who supported this - it's wonderful to have such local support.
We are very much in need of donations of household items and Starter packs for young people moving on from our Kidderminster accommodation scheme. Please click on the button below for more information on what items we are looking for.
