St Basils Youth Hub service opened in October 2010 and moved to it's current location on Heath Mill Lane in 2012 which is on the same site as our Head Quarters (accessible from adjacent Allcock Street). It provides the Single Point of Access for a range of services that can help young people aged 16-25 in Birmingham who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. The Youth Hub is a partnership between St Basils, Birmingham City Council’s Housing Needs Services, Children Young People and Families Directorate and Supporting People.
The Homelessness Reduction Act and Duty to Refer has bought many chanes to the way we operate. New services have also been launched recently to improve our offer to young people.
We hold open days and free youth hub briefings at the Youth Hub for partner agencies, referrers and other housing or youth service professionals to find out more about what the Youth Hub in Birmingham does now, our new processes and what we can offer young people (depending on their age and situation).
The Briefings include:
1) Presentation delivered by Youth Hub Partners (St Basils, Birmingham City Council’s Housing Needs Services, Children Young People and Families Directorate) on:
2) Tour of the Youth Hub, to speak with staff and gain a further understanding of the service and 'customer journey'.
The next Youth Hub briefings will be held on:
