Long-standing Board member John Parr becomes first Honorary President of St Basils
22 SEP 2016

We are proud to announce that long-standing Board member John Parr has, this week, become the first Honorary President of St Basils. John Parr has been involved with St Basils for a very long time, even before St Basils as a charity was established 44 years ago. He has been a committed and active member of St Basils board and is currently our link to St Basils Youth Council, attending all their meetings and reporting back to the Board.

Jean Templeton, Chief Executive told the guests at St Basils' AGM that:

"We see John as the ‘guardian of purpose and ethos’ of St Basils. Whatever challenges the external environment produces, John always maintains a clear focus on purpose and outcomes for our beneficiaries."

Sara Fowler, Chair of St Basils Board, said:

"John holds the organisational memory of St Basils.  In recognition of his long and invaluable service and our keenness to keep his wise counsel and contribution, the Board have created a new role as Honorary President. John has graciously agreed to accept this role and to continue to make the links between our Board and our Youth Council."

Youth Council Members congratulated John and presented him with his very own signed Youth Council T-shirt.
