BCU Media Students to Film Big Brum Sleepout

We’d like to say a big thank you to a group of young people who have supported St Basils by volunteering their time to produce a film of St Basils BIG Birmingham SleepOut event to help raise awareness of the work St Basils does across the West Midlands as well as to make the general public more aware of this event, to encourage more people to take part in the future.

The group led by Broadcast Journalist student Laura Sanders are all studying either Media Production or Broadcast Journalism under Diane Kemp at Birmingham City University. They are; Laura Sanders (PM), Jessica Quinlan, Manuel del Solar, Teresa Conceciao, Tobijah Ijahman, Chloe Schemanoff and Natasa Korfiotou.

Working closely with our Digital Media Executive, the group adhered to the brief expertly and came up with a plan as to how they were going to execute it. They conducted some pre-filming with a number of our partners as well as filming overnight into the early hours at the event itself. They split themselves into several teams to cover more ground at the event and interview as many people as possible. Then edited it all together for approval.

To them, and to all our partners, volunteers and supporters we’d like to say a big ‘thank you’ for taking the time to assist us with this film!
