Night and Weekend Support Worker

NIGHT AND WEEKEND SUPPORT WORKER

REPORT TO:

PROGRESSION COORDINATOR

LOCATION:

 POSITIONS AVAILABLE IN BIRMINGHAM, REDDITCH AND KIDDERMINSTER

SALARY:

SCALE 4, POINTS 18-21, £17,063 - £18,882 PER ANNUM, PRO RATA

HOURS:

37.5 HOURS (FULL TIME) AND 18.5 HOURS (PART TIME) ROLES AVAILABLE

Job Purpose

Providing support at night and weekends to young people at risk of homelessness to enable them to develop their skills, confidence and opportunities and make a successful transition to adulthood.

The successful candidate should ideally be able to:

  • Organise evening and weekend activities including resident meetings.
  • Assist young people to manage any crises, emergencies and difficulties that may occur out of hours.
  • Experience of working with young people in any of the following settings:- Youth work, Residential or Social work, Probation/Criminal Justice, Community work, Education and Training, Housing or Support work
  • Assist young people in improving their life skills through designing and implementing life and social skills programmes in individual and group work settings
  • Communicate effectively with a diverse group using appropriate media
